Education In the United States

Education in the United State can be decribed as a pendulum that is constantly changing. Examining the roots that formed the Education system can help people understand Education in today's society. 

I intend to research the origin of the common school system in the U.S. To investigate the standards being taught, treatment of students, and the vision Horace Mann had to create a school system. While I acknowledge some of Horace Mann's beliefs about the common school system, I will argue that the development of the school system in the U.S. fails certain groups in society.
