The contributions of Native Americans in the United States before and after its inception can not be understated. Without their insight, our ascendence as a nation onto the global scale would have been stunted. Without their guides, food, clothing, and other technologies for travel,  our expansion westward would have been slowed to a crawl. Without their conceptions of government and rule, we might not have come up with our unique system of government at the time, which could have caused stronger stability issues than were already a trademark of the time of the early republic. We even name our cities, states and rivers after them. Without tribes like the Iriquois, Potowatamie, Chumash, and countless others unnamed in this research, the nation we know today would not look the same.
